Poverty is systemic. However if you grew up in the West, you would have a different story to tell. Growing up we heard poor people were lazy. They were too stupid to take school seriously and as a result they couldnt find jobs and thats how they became poor. And we all believed it, we didnt know any better. The West is good at politically socializing its citizens. It would take me a long time until I actually learned the real truth. Until I finally learned about the ugly truth of politics. Until I learned about Islam as an ideology. Capitalism creates poverty. For one, unequal distribution of wealth is a major flaw. Competitive markets and wage labor are both lies. Everything is fixed to benefit the elite. Subsidies and tariffs dont benefit individuals, rather keep global markets afloat to benefit the governments. On the contrary, the economic system of Islam under the Khilafah ensures that wealth will circulate in fair opportunities for everyone while simultaneously preventing monopolies as well. Islam does not view problems as economic, rather as real human problems. Under the Khilafah no one is a statistic and favorable majority percentage does not ensure that all are faring well. Reminds me of the time when Umar R.A was making his rounds and saw a poor woman with hungry children. He felt upset and immediately went back to get her food and supplies. He wouldnt even let his helper carry the groceries. He went back and cooked the food himself and even played with the children.
