Power Within When you know and you know that you know, you will always be happy that you know. You need to possess knowledge to understand the pride Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Abubakar Gimba as well as Azikiwe, Awolowo and Ojukwu wear up their sleeves. You need to be lost in search of your being and be neck-deep in the sojourn to restore the pride and bliss of your heritage as well as advance your people to understand the diamond in wisdom. You need to see yourself speak and people are eager to listen to fully grasp the idea of having a brain. Until your phone lines are buzzing with calls from people who are wealthy and older but would call to always ask of your opinions on issues before you can fathom the world of the thinkers. You can only have a true picture of who a hero or heroine is when ideas keep rushing into your skull. When people dream of masquerades chasing them in dreams, you dream of ideas to making the future of your people blissful. Our real and genuine heroes are not those who waited for patronage. There is a point one gets to in the search for knowledge and truth that you would never think of peoples endorsement. Our heroes and heroines; faces like Harriet Tubman, Queen Nzingha, Queen Amina, Malcolm X, Sankara, Lumumba, Nkrumah, Martin Luther King Jnr, and the messiah Garvey among others were people who understood the power of FOUNDATION. These were people who woke a sleeping people up. Great ones built grassroots. They faced the hardship, condemnation but tenaciously moved on. The highest stage of consciousness is to build the FOUNDATION. Can a house stand without a solid foundation? Weve lost the foundation that is why we are this way as a people. The heroes and heroines of our time are those whose piercing swords of battle stand in defence of the foundation. Martin Luther King Jnr is no less important than Obama; hes the proverbial chin that stood to sustain Obamas water. When knowledge radiates you, the joy of building the foundation will always be your pride. You sleep but your heart is awake. There is no higher pride than when young ones see you and wish to be like you. Theres no greater glamour than when elderly ones love to hear from you. Thats when you begin to respect and observe the GOLDEN RULE: Seek ye first the kingdom of knowledge and wisdom and all other things shall be added unto you.
