Powerful video. Went through incessant bullying myself. It left me having nightmares on and off...for thirty...thats 30 years. So many good memories of life before moving to Friendship, Maine (and going to school in Waldoboro) were obscured and blocked until I learned I needed to write. Shortly after moving to Bangor I ran into a classmate who was my lab partner and I considered a friend back then. It still infuriates me when I remember what she told me, and I quote: We voted you the most likely to commit suicide. To this day, I am not a champion of public schools. One teacher, like the bus driver they mentioned in the video who joined in the Fun did so to me as well. I have proof in a pair of Polaroid photos where you can see bruises left from his fingers...they look like fingerprints on my arm. Like the expression about how Karma can catch up with the people who have hurt you...and if youre lucky, sometimes God will let you watch? I have learned how true that is...that fate has a way of working with Karma to balance things back out. Concern about bullying like anything else is a nice popular thing these days, but like Pete Townshend sings in Eminence Front...Planes crash, dreams dashed...People forget. Lets try and remember... Bullies arent BORN that way...they are formed through abuse, neglect and yes, really, really bad parenting...yet another reason why kids shouldnt be making kids at too young an age...if you cant handle your own life as a person... You shouldnt be making another person. I know that sounds harsh...but I have always been good at reading people and every one of the more than a dozen kids who targeted me (and that teacher who later became a principal) came from a home with abuse and or, at the very least...severe dysfunction. I have learned over the years to control my anger... By throwing myself into helping others...its one of the few things that really seems to help me cope with it. You see, I have been told ever since I can remember...You have a really GOOD memory. Which can be invaluable... But it can also be like a bad video loop that can play over and over in your mind to the point where the memories can make you physically ill.
