Prayer Vigil for Courtney Forehand Our community has been pulling together in prayer for the Forehand family since their tragic car accident on Memorial Day of this year. As many know, Courtney Forehand, a rising senior at Appling County High School continues to recover from injuries sustained in the accident. In honor of Courtney’s seventeenth birthday on July 22, 2014, the ACHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes is sponsoring a 24-hour prayer vigil for Courtney and her family. We are asking community members to sign up for 15 minute time slots to come and pray at Courtney’s church, First Assembly of God, located at 3397 Hatch Parkway North in Baxley. The vigil will begin at the church at 12:01 AM and end at midnight on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Prayer vigil sign-up sheets will be available at local churches throughout the community. If you are not a member of a church but would like to participate, please sign up with any local church or just come at your convenience to First Assembly of God. We are asking for prayers of thankfulness, healing, and continued strength for the family. A prayer service will be held during the vigil from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm. During this time, the FCA and local area pastors, as well as friends of Courtney will lead the community in song and prayer. Everyone is welcome to attend during this hour of prayer. A drop box will be available throughout the event if you would like to bring a birthday card for Courtney. Additionally, if you would like to give a monetary donation to the family, a collection box will be available throughout the prayer vigil, and an offering will be collected during the prayer service. The Forehand family has demonstrated an unbelievable example of the awesome power of faith and prayer. This prayer vigil is a great opportunity for our community to unite in prayer for Courtney and this precious family of God.
