Premier stresses importance of Arab intellectuals in confronting cultural invasion Nov 04, 2013 #Damascus, (#SANA) – Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi, stressed on Monday the importance of the role of Arab intellectuals and thinkers in confronting the cultural invasion and Takfiri thought which are aimed at destroying the Arab mentality and nature. Meeting a delegation representing Algerian law, media and political personalities, the Prime Minister said, Syria, the land of civilizations and the fountain of cultures, will remain the immune citadel at whose fences the greed of the invaders is defeated. He added that Algeria which offered a million and a half martyrs can only be beside the pan-Arab line and support the just causes of the Arab Nation. Al-Halqi said, It is not strange that the Algerian people who are committed to the causes of the Arab Nation are now backing the Syrian people in their ordeal. The Prime Minister briefed the delegation on the components of the aggression on Syria with all its military, political, economic, media and social dimensions, noting that this aggression could not undermine the steadfastness of the Syrian army. Al-Halqi pointed out that eradicating terrorism in Syria has now become just a matter of time and that Syria has made remarkable progress in combating terrorism and mercenaries who came from various countries of the world.
