Preparations for Ballycarrys Annual Broadisland Gathering (Sat 6th Sept) are well underway. A schedule of events in the week prior to the Gathering have been arranged (more details to follow): Friday 29th August - ‘The Ghost of Orr’ Night in Millar’s Bar, Ballycarry - Music, Script, James Orr, Entertainment, Poems, etc. (Entry £5, pay at the door) Monday 1st Sept - Major Sinclair Memorial Pipe Band playing at Amphitheatre Fairhill, Ballycarry (7pm) Followed by Talks on the Orange Order in World War 1, with Dr Jonathan Mattison and Dr David Hume. Tuesday 2nd Sept - Photography Exhibition (10-12 evening session tbc) – Community Centre, Ballycarry Tuesday 2nd Sept - Coffee Morning & Gardening Competition Winner Presentations (10-12) Including launch of War Exhibition, Community Centre, Ballycarry Wednesday 3rd Sept – Historical Bus Run, includes free refreshment complements of Millars Bar, Ballycarry. Ticket price TBC, Leaving from outside Beatties Shop, Ballycarry. Thursday 4th Sept - Kids Disco & Tuck Shop, Community Centre, Ballycarry, 6.30-8pm £1.50 entry Fri 5th Sept - Ulster Scots Cookery Demonstration, Community Centre, Ballycarry Tickets £5.
