Press Release Responding to the statement by the said Penghulu in Utusan Borneo today, the complainants met Mr Leon Jimat Donald, DAP SARAWAK Vice Chairman. Mr Francis Xavier & Mr Gerajie Jenau & Mt Christopher Jalai has made another police report on the alleged abuse of power by the Penghulu and his accomplices. Mr Christopher & Mr Francis now further allege that there is a new found evidence which further validates their claim of abuse of power by the Penghulu. We wish the Land & Survey Superintendent of Sri Aman to investigate this matter together with the police on the land application forms handed out to the so called 73 longhouse dwellers in Pakit. Firstly, they were not consulted and apparently left out of the said meeting and secondly, the land application forms from Land & Survey which were bandied about was already printed with their addresses and the only thing needed was their signatures and the Penghulu plus 2 Tuai Rumahs! said Francis Xavier. Normally these forms are handwritten and not typed and it was also alleged the Penghulu kept harassing the 2 Tuai Rumahs and their anak buah to sign the forms immediately upon receiving it, a sign he wanted them to agree to his schemes without questioning his motives. There was no proper consultation. This clearly shows the Tuai Rumahs are afraid of his authority, said Mr Christopher Jalai. To claim these 3 gentlemen are opposition members is clearly an act of desperation by the Penghulu and his accomplices because he is trying to deflect attention from his wrong doings. I have personally known Mr Christopher Jalai, he was a senior Kemas officer and there is no reason why he seeked my help other than he wants to stop this alleged abuse of power by the Penghulu, and I promise to help them to highlight their case to the very highest investigative authority, said Leon Jimat Donald DAP Sarawak Vice Chairman.
