Pretty appalled to see some people second guessing the rationale behind the atrocities in these shame murder posts. (I refuse to recognise any honour associated here). It doesnt matter what the cultural, religious, or economic reasoning that may have been used, nor how our history may have been similar, surely? It is widely recognised as an unacceptable behaviour, and no logical explanation seems to be given as a means of justification. Often, they are carried out without any legal process, and sometimes in direct conflict with law. If I had been raised in a society that believed something was acceptable, but I was shown evidence that undermines that belief, I would side with the evidence, rather than its the way weve always done it. Rather than explaining a behaviour, based on its origin, isnt the better option to look at ways of changing that behaviour? Personally, I would rather prevent the next murder, than justify the last one.
