Pretty simple video, but definitely resonated with me and made me tear up! I think one thing that many people struggle with is that rarely is there a segue to actually saying the words to come out; you can see that they write stalling near the beginning. The other thing that interests me is that coming out isnt just one act, but an on-going process; they note that their dad is the last family member to be told. You may even think that uploading a YouTube video could be a coming out catch-all, but guaranteed they will meet people who havent seen it, and the process starts all over again. Should I come out to this person? When? Where? How? Why? As much as we use labels to understand the world around us, you may not want that to be the first thing someone learns about you; Hi, my name is John, Im lgbtq, and work in accounting. Anyone else have thoughts or stories about the process?
