Priesthood was prophesied when the messiah comes Is. 56:3 Let not the foreigner say, when he would join himself to the LORD, “The LORD will surely exclude me from his people”; Nor let the eunuch say, “See, I am a dry tree.” Is. 56:4 For thus says the LORD: To the EUNUCHS who observe my sabbaths and choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant, Is. 56:5 I will give, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name Better than sons and daughters; an eternal, imperishable name will I give them. Is. 56:6 And the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, ministering to him, Loving the name of the LORD, and becoming his servants — All who keep the sabbath free from profanation and hold to my covenant, Is. 56:7 Them I will bring to my holy mountain and make joyful in my house of prayer; Their holocausts and SACRIFICES will be acceptable on my ALTAR, For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples. A gentile, celibate priesthood to offer a right sacrifice? Is. 66:19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send of them that shall be saved, to the Gentiles into the sea, into Africa, and Lydia them that draw the bow: into Italy, and Greece, to the islands afar off, to them that have not heard of me, and have not seen my glory. And they shall declare my glory to the Gentiles: Is. 66:20 And they shall bring all your brethren out of all nations for a gift to the Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and on mules, and in coaches, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as if the children of Israel should bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord. Is. 66:21 And I will take of them to be priests, and Levites, saith the Lord.*** Mal. 3:3 And he shall sit refining and cleansing the silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and shall refine them as gold, and as silver, and they SHALL OFFER SACRIFICES to the Lord in justice. Mal. 3:4 And the SACRIFICE of Juda and of Jerusalem shall please the Lord, as in the days of old, and in the ancient years. Where is your priesthood that can offer the ONE sacrifice of Calvary MADE PRESENT for us on our altars? The prophet Zechariah predicted a sacrifice which would continue after the messiah comes. Zech. 14:20 On that day there shall be upon the bells of the horses, “Holy to the LORD.” The pots in the house of the LORD shall be as the libation bowls before the altar. Zech. 14:21 And every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holy to the LORD of hosts; and all who come to sacrifice shall take them and cook in them. On that day there shall no longer be any merchant in the house of the LORD of hosts. Malachi predicts the same: Mal 1:10 Oh, that one of you would just shut the temple gates to keep you from kindling fire on my altar in vain! I take no pleasure in you, says the LORD of hosts; and I will not accept any offering from your hands! Mal. 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is sacrifice, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord of hosts. Where is your altar to offer that perfect sacrifice? Heb. 13:10 We HAVE an altar whereof they have no power to eat who serve the tabernacle. Romans 15:15–17 (RSVCE) 15 But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the *priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17 In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God. *2418. ἱερουργέω hierourgeō; from a comp. of 2413 and 2041; to perform sacred rites:—ministering as a priest(1).
