Product of a Romanian mother and a Ghanaian father who attended University in Romania in the ‘70ies, this eclectic guy who’s created a rich imaginary world is “Wanlov The Kubolor”. A Kubolor, pronounced “coo-bor-law” is an adventurer, a wanderer, regarded as a rascal or truant, one who does not appear to be under parental control or guidance, always up for the next mischievous deed. His real name is Emmanuel Owusu Bonsu, he spent his childhood between Ploiesti (Romanian town) and Accra (capital of Ghana), then he lived in the US, France, …. He’s versatile, authentic, refreshing and playful. He says his ability to appeal to people of all types is due to him growing up between two different worlds: hes too light to be an African and too dark to be a European. His style is defined as Afro-gipsy. This Ghanaian-Romanian Peter Pan, as a true and charming adventurous nomad, has many musical projects, just as he has 5 children with 5 different women – and it seems he doesn’t intend to settle with any of them! We mean the women, not the music! We like him because, in his own words: “I am not taking myself too seriously, I like to play…But when there is a true cause to defend, I react.” Indeed, he gets involved in many social projects. One of his songs, “Human Being“ serves as the soundtrack to the anti-child-trafficking campaign led by UNICEF.
