Project Phase - Day 4 (Final Full Day) Narayani, Central Region, Nepal Tuesday, December 16, 2014 Hey hey hey!!!!!! Well the last day was a cracker. Started off with crepes and cornflakes for breaky. We werent too sure what the work load was going to be like for the final day because we were nearly finished the wall only a 1ft to go until it was accomplished to the 5ft level. Today we were told that we had been working too hard and so we were told that we didnt have to work on the wall and instead got the opportunity to teach the kids some English and small games. We each got into a small group and had a class each and taught the kids the hokey pokey, duck -duck-goose, head-shoulders-knees & toes and the game cat & mouse. Everyone enjoyed teaching the Nepalese children some Australian games that we played as kids and some activities we use in peer support back at Cav Road (Pulse, 21, and The Tap Game) Farewell Ceremony . We were then welcomed to the farewell ceremony where some traditional dancers and elders attended. We were all awarded certificates and a necklace of flowers. After the speeches we were pulled into some traditional dancing and singing of the Tharu People where we were all in a circle enjoying the moment. In return we had organised our own performance of the Australian National Anthem and then a school war cry. Afterwards we said our goodbyes, had last minute photographs and did some gift giving. The day then ended with a lovely dinner and a cuppa for supper! We hope to be back in WiFi connection tomorrow to be able to post our blogs and to chat to loved ones. And thats all folks!!!
