Protester claims Atlanta police wrongfully arrested her during demonstration ATLANTA (CBS46) – Sarah Garrett could not believe police were arresting her. “They told me I was being detained for resisting arrest,” Garrett said. Garrett said she was part of a group of demonstrators who marched peacefully along Spring Street near Andrew Young International in downtown Atlanta, protesting the decision not to indict Ferguson, MO, police officer Darren Wilson. “We were just doing the hands up, dont shoot,” Garrett said. “I heard somebody say, Get those two. Then we got tackled,” Garrett said. “They put their knee in my back.” After a night in jail, Garrett and about two dozen other protestors packed municipal court Wednesday. Garrett ultimately was charged with jaywalking. Garrett said she was being punished for was exercising her right to free speech a right, she said, will not be denied.
