Proverbs 19:6-7, Lots of people flock around a generous person; everyones a friend to the philanthropist. When youre down on your luck, even your family avoids you. Yes, even your best friends wish youd get lost (The Message version) Wow...the Scriptures have such an honest way of saying things!! It is true to nature for humans to be this way...it is up to us to cultivate a culture that cares and does not follow the natural trends. Dont shun those that are down on their luck or fighting depression, or those who have been hurt or offended...keep being a friend to them. Never know, when they are back on their feet it might just be that you need them some day...
