Publishing Ethics Manager ASM is seeking a full-time Publishing Ethics Manager in the journals division. Candidate would be responsible for ensuring that allegations of potential research and/or publications misconduct consistently are resolved in a timely manner in accord with ASM ethics policies. Advanced degree in an experimental biomedical science, knowledge of microbiology a plus. Candidate should possess at least 4 years’ lab experience. Knowledge of scientific journals publishing processes, experience with analyzing data obtained through standard biomedical techniques, familiarity with ethical guidelines and regulations regarding plagiarism, data manipulation, and use of human and animal subjects in biomedical research. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills, excellent computer skills, working experience with a range of software applications and publishing tools; ability to learn new applications quickly (ASM will provide training in use of plagiarism detection software and forensic analysis tools). Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadline-sensitive projects, adapt to changes in work environment exercise sound judgment, and solve problems proactively.
