Pumpkinator (2014) from Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston, Texas From the Saint Arnold website: Pumpkinator is a big, black, full of spice, full of flavor beer. Originally released in 2009 as Divine Reserve No. 9, it is an imperial pumpkin stout and our answer to how a pumpkin beer ought to taste. This year’s version comes in at 10% ABV. It is brewed with a combination of pale two row, caramel and black malts, Cascade and Liberty hops for a background hop flavor, pumpkin for a rich mouth feel, molasses and brown sugar, and spiced and dry-spiced to make it feel like you just walked into your mom’s kitchen while she was cooking 37 pumpkin pies. It is the most expensive beer we have brewed. A single batch of Pumpkinator will be released around every October 15. It is available in 22 oz. bottles and on draft. Impressive and well deserved! Saint Arnold Pumpkinator (2014) was released today - Monday, 10/13/14. Steins Deli in New Orleans, Louisiana received 12 cases to distribute, and they opened at midnight last night to sell this. I was in bed way before midnight last night, and Steins is closed on Mondays. I was able to locate an allocation at Elios in New Orleans, Louisiana today, and I was only allowed to buy 1 bottle. They were allocated 2 cases (22 oz. bomber bottles). It is my understanding that Whole Foods in Metairie/New Orleans and Mathernes in LaPlace will have their allocations tomorrow. This beer is the KING of Pumpkin beers. I have tasted this since 2011, and I still have a bottle of 2013 stashed. This 2014 version is again absolutely superb! It is maybe the best yet of all the Saint Arnold Pumpkinator vintages! Rich, jet black, creamy, smooth, balanced, and luscious! Simply decadent! You will not find a better pumpkin brew!
