QPR move for youngster faces problem, club need to move quick-- LEquipe reported on Sunday that QPR were the clear favourites to sign much wanted Auxerre youngster Georges Ntep. The player has been followed by clubs in England and Italy, and staying in France appeared to be unlikely given the wages on offer from other countries. Rennes had already agreed a €6m fee with Auxerre for the young forward but werent matching QPRs wages, with the London club offering €4.5m as a transfer fee. LEquipe thought it was just a matter of time before QPR upped their bid but things have changed in France. Rennes have upped their wage offer to the player and seeing as they have already agreed a fee it puts them out in front. Whilst its unlikely Rennes will pay as much as QPR, Ntep clearly wants a move and if this is his easiest option he could take it to make sure he completes a deal in January. A transfer anywhere will see the player get a big rise in wages and that could be the driving factor which makes a move happen in January rather than the summer. QPR only need to offer a further €1.5m to again leapfrog Rennes.
