QUESTION OF THE DAY with Albert Pritchard. Sunday, August 30 Once again I would like to apologize for the fact that of late I have not been able to post the Question of the Day, with it normal daily posting. As my internet provider cant figure out why I have service one day and for the next couple of days no service. Then back to having service again. Hopefully this will be all sorted out soon and I will once again be posting daily. Thank you for your understanding. Look for different photos for todays Question Of The Day on both The Beatles Universe and The Beatles Universe-Features Pages. Thank you and enjoy! The stage at this Stadium (during the Beatles 1964 Ameican tour) was situated on the far side of the venue, well away from the audience. However, during the performance of Cant Buy Me Love more than 100 fans broke through a police cordon and ran across the field towards the stage. It took 225 police officers more than 20 minutes before order was restored, with mounted police patrolling the area of the breach. Around 200 fans collapsed through excitement and exhaustion. One girl broke her arm, but refused hospital treatment until the show had ended. The concert was recorded, and was broadcast by the local radio station on the 10th anniversary of the concert. The songs were mostly inaudible due to the fans screams, but The Beatles between-song stage banter was captured. After the fans attempted stage invasion, John Lennon remarked: Wed like to continue with our next number, if you would stop playing football in the middle of the field. Prior to the final song, Long Tall Sally, Paul McCartney told the crowd: Wed like to thank everybody for coming, including the football players. In what American city are we talking about? HINT: The Beatles also met Fats Domino in this city! Answer Tomorrow Same Beatle Time (If Possible) and Station! Yesterdays Question: This 1964 compulation album featured 4 tracks by the Beatles and the rest of the lp consisted of music from an Australian-English easy listening and country singer. It was re-released that same year under a different but simular name. Like many of the albums rushed out to cash in on the Beatles success, they have been called a rip-off, due to its intentional misleading of buyers. These albums, however, were significant in that, until the release of the Beatles 1973 compilation album, The Beatles/1962-1966, they were the only American Beatles albums to include From Me to You. What were the titles of these 2 albums? Answer ... Jolly What! Englands Greatest Recording Stars: The Beatles and Frank Ifield on Stage released on February 26th 1964 on the Vee Jay label and The Beatles & Frank Ifield on Stage released on October 10th 1964 on the Vee Jay Label. Congratulations to John DeRuvo (who answered on Both Pages) Linda Eleanor Rigby Robbins, and Michael Paresi for giving the correct answers. Thanks to all who played and commented.
