QUOTE OF THE DAY: “SUICIDE IS TRACEABLE TO A DEFEATED PERSONALITY” Memory Verse: “I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity” Jeremiah 29:14a. Those who have lost hope no doubt will go for the rope. A defeated personality prompts suicide attempts. What do I mean by defeated personality? It is a state of mind whereby all possibilities and internal energy has been completely shut down by the reason of persistent, uncontrollable and difficult life experiences. Loss of hope and having a low self-concept of oneself are mere precursors and preparatory grounds to total defeat of personality. A thing will naturally wither when it is cut off from its source. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being’ Acts 17:28. One of South Korea’s most popular actresses was found dead in a suspected suicide in early 2009. Choi Jin-sil, was found in the bathroom of her home in Seoul. The actress, 39, appeared to have hanged herself. Her death came a month after the suicide of a fellow actor Ahn Jae-hwan, rumoured to owe her much money. What could have made a great star by worldly standards to give up on life? What could have made a famous woman end her dreams in chaos? Indeed, life has difficult moments and sometimes, these moments seem to announce God as a liar! There are trials that make you question if the Bible is true and if miracles are real. No matter the heat of the battles life throws at you, do not allow it to push you away from God because the farther you are from God, the dimmer your hope and the more frustrated you will become. Is your personality defeated? Jump up now and begin to decree what God says about you in the scriptures. The more you say it, the more a good picture of your personality will begin to emerge and the more the spring of hope will begin to erupt and the more you will begin to see possibilities and things you can do. Remember, nothing works outside God; premature death will never be your portion. There is hope for you. Enjoy your day!
