Quality football at the Fiji FACT EXPECT good quality football during the Vodafone Fiji FACT which kicks off tomorrow at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. Grounds committee chairman and Fiji Football Association vice-president Yogeshwar Singh said the field at the venue was in top condition and ready to host the eight teams that would compete in the tournament. Ratu Cakobau Park is all ready to host the Fiji FACT, he said. The turf is looking good except for a few patches which should be sorted by tomorrow. The floodlights are in good condition and the council is working on the seats. Singh said the Nausori Town Council and Fiji FA had spent a lot of money to make sure everything was in order for the tournament. We thank God that the weather has been fine up till now and we are praying for good weather to prevail till the end of the tournament. We know how teams love to play on a firm surface and as it is, we are expecting good quality football judging on how the field is looking. Singh has called on soccer lovers in the country to flock to the venue tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday to witness the pool matches of the Fiji FACT. The World Cup is on right now but our games will be all in the afternoon so people will not be able to miss either competition. Hosts Rewa heads Pool A with Ba, Labasa and Nadroga while defending champions Nadi is grouped with Suva along with Lautoka and Navua in Pool B. Meanwhile, Fiji Sports Council and Fiji National Sports Commission chairman Peter Mazey is expected to open the tournament. Source : FijiTimes
