Question for the published scholars.... While reading through - TopicsExpress

Question for the published scholars.... While reading through the final proofs for my Brill publication in the highly reputed and storied series New Testament Texts, Studies, and Documents Bart D. Ehrman and Ehrman, eds), I have encountered something of a tension between scholarly conventions and faith. In particular, in the opening paragraph of my acknowledgments, I make all kinds of allusions to Rev 5, of trying to break open the secrets of my Coptic ms, of trying to peer into its contents, of not feeling worthy, of great weeping etc. All this seems fine enough, if not bordering on artistic(!), but then in the final sentence of the acknowledgments, forming an inclusio, I complete the allusion with a doxology from Rev 5: To him who sits upon the throne and to the lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever. My question is, Does the doxology detract anyway from the scholarly reputation of the esteemed NTTSD series. Ive already removed substantial faith oriented comments that were found in the original thesis acknowledgments, but am fearful that even the doxology might be inappropriate for this series.
