Question: what do you do during the slow season, with no visiting students? Answer: it sure is nice to relax a little, but we have lots to keep us busy. We maintain and repair the station and its equipment, complete our year-end accounts, and take bookings for next year. So far the weather has been cooperative: no hurricanes on the horizon, and even quite dry. We had a great expedition to the Guatemalan an Belizean Mayan ruins on a mini vacation, and highly recommend you do the same if you get a chance. The Mayans had some very advanced views on marine science and technology!
