Quick story on this one: (Rebecca/Mirja - youll remember this story) -- I was writing in my favorite Delray Starbucks yesterday, and this song came on ... capturing my attention. To me, it is such a beautiful cover of this tune. So ... about four years ago, I was with friends at a wine bar up in Sebastian ... singing Karaoke; it was an odd location for that, but it was a lot of fun. The older man running the system remembered some of my dads music, played some of his songs, as a matter of fact. We all sang, drank wine - not necessarily in that order. At the end of the evening, this gentleman informs us that he has written a few songs himself. I mean, who were we to doubt this? One of the songs he wrote: Walk Away Renée. He then played it on his Karaoke system and we listened to him sing, joining him toward the end. Its always fun to hear the writer sing his/her own composition. Again - Lindas (and Ann Savoys) cover is sweet. (How about that cello?!) Its sad Linda is not doing well, but its always nice to know that, with recording artists -- and creative people, in general -- their work is always available for us to enjoy any time the spirit moves us. So ... enjoy.
