Quicklook: Psalm 91:7–16 Does God answer prayers? Does He even hear prayers? How can people know for sure that God listens? Psalm 91 isn’t only a prayer in which the Israelites speak to God. It includes the voice of God. He promises to answer when called. He agrees to be with those who are in trouble. The Bible promises, “He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him” (Psalm 91:15). Humans do not always answer their phone calls. People don’t always respond to e-mail or text messages. But God answers when called. His voice isn’t heard simply through human ears. There isn’t always proof of immediate answers from God. People should not assume every thought is God’s voice. Yet, God does speak. He speaks through His Word, His people, His Spirit, and circumstances. If His people call, He will hear. In His time and His way, He will answer. Prayer Suggestion: God, help me believe you hear my prayers even when I feel nothing. And help me listen to your response.
