Quitman Community Theatre will present its 1st-ever melodrama, Egad, the Woman in White, or Sealed Away in A Madhouse, July 12,13,14,19,20,21 at the Carroll Green Civic Center in Quitman. Melodramas are known for their hokey, over-the-top acting, and stereotyped villains, heroes, and heroines. Audience members love them because they can hiss and boo the villain and cheer the heroine. Cast members are: Bob Hibbard as the evil, murderous Sir Percival Glyde, Melissa Walker as the devious and cunning Countess Fosco (Mistress of the Madhouse) Hannah Graham as sweet and gentle Marian Candace Brooks as kind, loving and victimized Laura Michael Phifer as the dashing, loyal, and true blue Walter Hartright Maino Graham as slovenly, lazy Dora the housekeeper Kevin Graham as the pennypinching, shyster lawyer Gilmore Robin Martin as Mrs. Catherick, a contortionist who thinks she might be Queen Victoria Chuck Davis as forboding, threatening, and gullible Mr. Peach Jim Dax as the miserly, mean hypochondriac Sir Frederick Fairlee And... The Woman in White!!!!! Our Opening Night Gala on July 12th will be hosted by the Friends of the Arboretum. The gala starts at 6:45pm...curtain is at 7:30pm. This production is underwritten by Peoples Telephone Coop, Inc. Ticket are $12.00 each and will be sold at the door.
