R.I.P. PETES FLAIR this morning the best mother in the horse world went to be with angels in the green pastures of heaven. She had been sick for several months with Dr. MaKensie coming and taking care of her. She was in foal and only had a few weeks until she was to deliver. Her will to live won out. Between Dr. Makensie and the excellent care she provided Flair never gave up. She delivered a beautiful little colt. After he was born she seemed to improve. She did as every good mother does, she begin to teach him all the horse things he needed to know to survive. Even though she could not eat grass, she would bring him out of the stall and act as though she was grazing in the pasture. He watched his mother intently and learned the ways of his mother. He quickly became independant, with the sweetest, loving personality. His mother slowly letting him become more independant as though she knew it was time to go. In the quiet hours of the night last night she slipped away from us. Blessing us with the sweetest, loving, little boy for us to continue to protect and raise. It is amazing to think she held on long enough to teach him the things only a horse mother could. She knew her time was up and it was safe for her to rest. Rest in peace sweet girl. We will love and care for the precious gift you gave us.
