RELEASE DATE: September 19, 2014 PRESS RELEASE On September 18, 2014, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Officers received a Police Run to Henry Ford Hospital to investigate the death of a child. When the Officers arrived on scene, they discovered that the body of a 3 year old female child had been brought into the Emergency room. The child was deceased and appeared to have been suffering from bruises on the head and chest, which are consistent with abuse. Police investigated and subsequently arrested the mother of the child, a 24 year old Detroit woman and the mother’s boyfriend a 33 year old Detroit man in regard to this incident. It is still early in the investigation and is still very fluid and active. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available. PR 14-195
