RELEASE NANS JCC CHAIRMAN(OSUN AXIS). NEYO AND COMR. SAFETY NOW. The attention of the National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) ZONE D, has been drawn to the unjust and provocative arrest of the Leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) Joint Campus Committee, Osun axis by men of the Nigeria Army at the College of Education, Ilesa, on Friday evening and has since been taken to an unknown destination. Again the S A student in osun as just been arrested nw at IREE with white bus by men identify to DSS in their dressing. Information available at our disposal has it that men of the Nigeria Army invaded the residence of the JCC Chairman, brutalised occupants of the hostel and whisked away Comrade Awolola Samuel and 8others to an unknown destination since yesterday, worse still, they have been incommunicado because their phones have been seized. We view this act as recklessness taken too far because we do not understand the justification for the arrest and why the military has dragged our Comrades into the murky water of politics surrounding the Osun guber. Let it be made abundantly clear here that our Stand about the Osun poll has been made clear ab initio, we have issued out a Press Release to charge INEC and other stakeholders to ensure that the election is held in a peaceful and credible manner and that its outcome must reflect the totality of the wish of Osun people. We therefore wish to condemn the arrest in its entirety and demand an immediate release of these Comrades without further delay. We further seize this medium to register our displeasure against the unlawful deployment of Military men for election purposes, as far as we are concerned, we believe that the military should be restricted to their core duty of defending the territorial integrity of the nation. Again, we urge the Military to concentrate more on tackling acts of insurgency in the Northern Nigeria and myriads of Security challenges facing the country and leave civil roles for the agency charged by law to handle it. We have been consulting and consolidate since yesterday on the arrest of the JCC Chairman nw one of our Leader as just been arrested again. We will not wait any longer before we take our last 3c of ALUTA in the STATE of OSUN tomorrow. NANS ZONE D COORDINATOR. SUNDAY ASEFON.
