REPORTS FROM SUNNY SOUTH AFRICA.............................THE TOURIST DESTINATION TO AVOID !!!! SA airports prepare for Mandela passing 13 June 2013 Pretoria - The Mthatha airport and those around Pretoria have made preparations for at least 2 000 planes to land in the country when former president Nelson Mandela passes away. Beeld reports that the Mthatha airport, which is close to Mandela’s home town Qunu, has been upgraded to the tune of R55 million. A luxury VIP arrival hall has also been added to the airport. The airport is expected to see the most traffic once Madiba passes on. Meanwhile a top secret contingency plan kicked into gear when Mandela took ill. The report says it is not clear what the plan entails, but South African National Defence Force (SANDF) soldiers were warned to prepare themselves about 10 days ago, before Mandela was even hospitalised. Nearly 1 200 soldiers are believed to be involved in the plan.
