RESPECT MEN & WOMEN OF GOD SET OVER YOU! (1 Timothy 5:17 ERV) The elders who lead the church in a good way should receive double honor--in particular, those who do the work of counseling and teaching. The word sacrilege mentioned in Romans 2:2 speaks of disrespect for Holy things and people. Men and women of God have been set apart by God for His work; therefore they are supposed to be treated with respect and dignity. God wants you to honor His servants. It is not so much about their personality but the office they occupy. Once a woman or man steps into the office of a servant of God, your attitude towards them must change. We need to respect the anointed of the Lord and esteem them highly for their work’s sake. This attitude causes the virtue upon them to flow to us because the level of value we place on them determines the amount of virtue we will get or obtain from them. The Lord Jesus Christ could do no mighty miracles in His home town because they treated Him just like a commoner. It is true that God places His treasures in earthen vessels but those vessels are meant to be treated with reference. Today, you are encouraged to change your attitude and mindset towards men and women of God set over you by God and begin to give them an exceptional level of respect. The God we serve will honor you for it in Jesus name. Prayers 1. Thank God for the revelation of His word to you today. 2. Pray that God will give you a heart of reference for the men and women of God you come across in life and the ones over your life. 3. Ask God to empower you to see the men and women of God over your life through the eyes of God. Faith confessions I have great respect for the things of God and the men and women of God who are set apart for God’s use. I do not get too familiar with the servants of God set over me by God I honor and respect them and I treat them with great respect in Jesus name.
