RHMS Worldwide Outreach Church: ONLINE. Longview, TX. USA. October, 26th, 2013 Starting our day in Jesus “Calling upon the Holy Spirit” By; Rev: Robert Chance Voight Greetings; to you all, Brothers & Sister’s, Friends & Family, In the Name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, & Through the Power of the Holy Spirit. Have you all wondered why we sometimes feel like we have failed? Why we feel like life can sometimes be more than we can handle? When we feel lost in our directions, why we sometimes feel let down or discouraged? Everyday has its own challenges, directions, and insights. Everyday has its own promises. Everyday has its own let downs, when we wake to a new day as Christians, who do we call on first? That cup of coffee, shower, or power breakfast? We scurry off to our jobs, school, or our leisure’s, if we are in our retirement; we hit the Golf Course, or Beauty salon, then maybe off to the local saloon? Yet when all this takes place, do we remember to call upon Jesus in Prayer to start our day? Are we really where we are supposed to be in our walks with Him? Do we call upon the Holy Spirit for Guidance? Or are we simply walking on our own accords? When each day has its own challenges, upsets, and misfortunes, who is at fault? Life can be a real challenge sometimes my friends, I myself have come to a realization this day! Though I consider myself to be a good Christian, I am at fault, as I recently have had some trying times, and because I was not doing what God calls us to do in His Son, I was not starting my day with Him, I was Running back and forth to my job, I was feeling frustrated with my company, I was Letting the rudeness of others get to me, I was angry at my employer for not getting my much needed raise, I was stressing over how I was going to fund, my travel to see my children in California, I was yes walking in my own accord! I was not calling upon Jesus in starting my day, I was not calling on the Holy Spirit in guidance and direction as I started my days, I was walking within myself, I was not spending time with you all, I was spending time within my own struggles, my own weaknesses, my own, doubts, and was not thinking clearly in my directions, Yes I was walking alone in my journey. Though I am a man of God, I was not starting my days as I have always taught others, I somehow forgot to call upon Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, and eventually this will catch up with you, and you’ll find yourself walking alone, then wondering why? Bad things and confusion, stress, and frustration, self doubts will overtake and cloud your day. I slept 13 hours after Working out last night, and in my sleep God had revealed to me this subject, I then woke up, and immediately prayed for forgiveness, and asked the Holy Spirit to guide my day. Sometimes I wonder what our lives would be like if we discovered all that is ours through the Holy Spirit— untapped spiritual riches! One treasure we have in the Holy Spirit is the power to do what’s right. God’s power at work within us enables us to “put to death the deeds of [our] sinful nature” (Romans 8:13). We don’t have to try to be good on our own because the “Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness” (v.26). When willpower won’t cut it, we need supernatural help; then we can finally reconcile with the person who hurt us, avoid unwholesome people around us, or turn down that extra plate of food. Another treasure the Holy Spirit affords us is the ability to think clearly and correctly. We don’t always wake up in the morning with God-honoring thoughts in our brains. Sometimes we wake up at midnight with notions of dread, fear, or guilt. In those times, it’s comforting to remember that “letting the Spirit control [our] mind leads to life and peace” (v.6). Just as people sometimes overlook their money and forfeit its benefits, many of us fail to notice and utilize the Holy Spirit’s power. Our lives are littered with our own efforts to do and to be good. Only God’s power working within us, however, will yield what’s best (Galatians 5:22-23). Discover what’s yours today! Please read› Romans 8:13-27. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness (v.26). Please Read 1 Corinthians 12:1-4, to see the Holy Spirit’s role in relation to our spiritual gifts. Look up John 15:26, to learn more about the Spirit’s role within the Trinity. What happens to our relationship with God, when we try to please Him in our own strength? Why do we sometimes overlook, the Holy Spirit’s power in our lives? I will be leaving for California on Tuesday, even though I will not have enough money for my travels, I have too make this journey, I really don’t have much choice, as this is for my son who is having some legal issues dealing with custody. I need to be in court on October 7th to address this with court, and confide with my Attorney. I will be returning to Texas on the 15th, to return to work, and my home, and hopefully I will be able to fix what is happening. In all of this I will call upon the Lord Jesus for Guidance and Direction, I will call upon the Holy Spirit to be with me as I make this journey ahead. I will ask you all to keep these things within your prayers. God Bless us all as we trudge and walk our journey each day. I ask all this in Jesus name, Amen. Respectfully, Rev. Robert Chance Voight
