ROXY!!! Roxy is breaking my heart. She was in a home for several days and all was going well. She was sleeping in their bed and she was happy. She had dogs that visited and she played with. Roxy ended up getting kennel cough. The medicine caused her to vomit continuously. I took Roxy to ER vet and she was hooked up to an IV for fluids. When they put medicine thru the IV it was very painful for her. She cried and just looked at me with those sad eyes. She never snapped. She leaned against me and had the IV sticking out of her back and never tried to run or pull it out. Little trooper. This is after sitting for 4 hours waiting for vet. Roxy has new meds and is doing better. She hasnt vomited since. But, Roxy is depressed. She lays on her bed and just looks at me with those sad eyes. Animals get depressed - for those who think Im saying it to get attention. I see it all the time. When I take her out shes a happy girl again. Unfortunately, the people trying her out decided it was too much. Its not our place to judge. So please dont. She will heal. Shes a strong girl and just had a reaction to meds. Kennel cough is common (although we have never had a case before) and treatable. Basically, the equivalent of bronchitis. Once before Roxy was adopted and brought back because she sheds. My belief is a family member didnt know she was pit mixed (my opinion). They told me what a wonderful dog she is. Roxy is a wonderful dog. She is a shelter favorite. She is housebroken. She knows commands. Shes gentle and loving. Roxy loves her stuffed animals. Please, please help us find her a home.
