RUDY TRACKED DOWN by the K9 Team and on camera within 8 hours!! Missing for 7 days without a single sighting in a residential area, 6 lb/11 month old Rudy was sadly thought to have been a victim of a predator. After Rudy and 2 other family cats fled from an accidental opening of the back door, K9 Murphy was put to the test to determine the specific scent tracking of just Rudy, and not the scent of the 2 other cats that pondered the woods then made it back home. Murphy did just that. After nose-to-ground tracking over 1/2 mile on grass, concrete/asphalt, wooded terrain in 80 degree temp, Murphy then stopped and altered when he became close to the area he thought Rudy was in. Scent at this area confirmed with K9 Levi & K9 Dante. Dantes air scenting over a fence (after he attempted to run through it) strongly suggested where to place a trap and camera for visual confirmation. After removal of the K9 Team, very devastated but diligent owner Nicole, placed the camera where the K9s said and within 8 hours, shows Rudy and his distinctive markings. The capture and recovery process is now in session!!! Great job team!
