RULE OF LAW PREVAILED IN BRUTALITY CASE I say, comrades, I have applauded the Namibian Police on numerous occasions on the past and today I will praise again Police Inspector General Cde Lt Gen Sebastiao Ndeitunga and Wanaheda Station Commander Cde Chief Inspector J Shikongo. The two have responded swiftly after my intervention to ensure that Cde Michael Shomeya is (1) taken to hospital following his extensive head injuries and (2) he is allowed to lay a criminal charge against his Police assailant. The two top Police officers have since confirmed to me that Cde Shomeyas assailant who is a rogue Police officer will now be charged departmentally with assault to do grievous bodily harm (GBH). Those of my little knowledge Facebook friends who thought that Shomeyas assailant was your hero may now bury your heads in sand of shame! For me common sense and rule of law have prevailed and Cde Shomeya attacker will finally have his day in a court of law! That is one of the many good sides of people of good will such as Comrades Ndeitunga and Shikongo. We shall overcome! Cde Shomeya was arrested on charges of having broken into Swapo Party offices two months ago. He must face prosecution, yes, but he must not be assaulted! But until then, he must be presumed innocent until proved guilty after trial in a court of law, not in any kangaroo court!
