Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi Fast forward 70 years, what would you like to - TopicsExpress

Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi Fast forward 70 years, what would you like to see in retrospect? What would you have liked to achieve? "Preparing for a journey" is envisioning the future. The Sages teach “the wise man, his eyes are in his head " (Kohelet 2:14). Meaning, our sages did not waste time obsessing over the mistakes of the past, but looked forward and planned how to best overcome and fix these errors. When you turn 70, what would you like to see in retrospect? What would have liked to accomplish? If you are told you only have one more day to live, you would ask: "Wait, so what was the meaning of my life? Who am I? For what am I living? What is the best thing for me to do on this last day of my life?" Then, it will be too late. Begin questioning and discovering now.
