Racism..... lets really look an aspect that is readily spoken about..... not what it protrays its self to be from mass media and pop culture.... I would like to coin the phrase..... Institutionalize mediocrity for the majority Racism was started here in America in the mid 1600s as an intricate part of the chattel slavery that was being practice. Chattel Slavery, being economicly based, created the notion of unearned income; the ability to create weatlh without exchanging of your personal sweat equity or effect for maximum material gain. This is the basis of the methodology of American capitalism at its core. The American way; to get shit without really doing anything for it. The American dream; the opportunity to get shit without really doing anything for it. To not get too much into the psychology of the first American settlers, but that was what pushed and drove the idea for them to find a new world cause the old world that they were coming from in Europe had manarchs, Kings and Queens and royal families. Those were the ones that had wealth, and they were born into that wealth, they didnt earn it through personal work and hardship. And the majority of people were poor, a real representation of haves and have nots, lords and tarfs. So here in America they had a chance to create for themselves exactly what they were experiencing in Europe but it was upon the backs of black people. Slaves owner of the south referred to themselves as gentleman of leisure, a pseudo aristocratic society thats wealth and riches spawned from the barbarism and economics of chattel slavery. So....... what happens to a society that practices this unearned income for a couple hundred years? What does the descents of the majority have to inherit when they are born in a country whose economic prowess comes from gaining wealth without sacrificing as much? Also, most importantly, what does it mean for those who was used as the main vehicle to gain that unearned income? Its is said that a white male born today, in this society, is born with 83% of everything he will need to be successful in gaining wealth and riches. He just need an idea and minimal work ethic and he will be successful. When a black male is born today, in this society, he is born 3 generations behind his white counterpart. He needs to overcome generational poverty and weatlh deficit with in his own family. He is not inheirting any equity, he is inheirting debt. Thats racism...... Not comments or feelings of discontentment towards a particular ethnic group opposite of yours... Its when black people HAVE to be TOP OF THEIR CLASS TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, an A average graduating from Havard. But the President before was a C and D average student and barley graduated college. Racism is when a white person can be average and mediocre and still become a titan of industry, when a black person needs to run faster, jump higher, and work twice as hard just to make it at a minimal level. Institutionalize mediocrity for the majority. ......
