The menu will feature food items and prices in a large font and in Braille. Each item will have a corresponding audio sticker with the same information and an additional description that can be accessed by an audio labeller pen. Supporting this noble cause, Bollywood actor and celebrities Neha Dhupia, Aditi Sharma and Divyendu Sharma were present at the launch event at the Bombay Blue, Bandra. Talking about the initiative, Preeti Nihalani, Cluster Head - Mumbai, Radio Mirchi said, We have always put our listeners first. There are so many who prefer home deliveries and stay away from eating out due to lack of self sufficiency. Taking a cue from that, our CSR unit, Mirchi Cares, decided to aid them and help provide a friendlier restaurant for everyone. This is our first Braille & Audio Menu in Mumbai and we aim at providing many more to the city. We are grateful to Bombay Blue & XRCVC for their constant support in this endeavour. Mr. K.S. Narayanan, CEO, Pan India Food Solutions says, On the eve of Bombay Blues 13th Anniversary, we decided to celebrate this milestone by supporting Radio Mirchi & XRCVC in this novel initiative. We believe that a specialised menu like this would enable visually impaired people from venturing into a restaurant more frequently. Thanks to this initiative, we are making our restaurant friendlier to everyone. Dr. Sam Taraporevala, Director, Xaviers Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC) says, Visually impaired persons and those with print disability enjoy dining out, like anyone else. We hope that these accessible, inclusive menus will make the experience more pleasurable for them. The concept behind this unique accessible menu opens up many possibilities for creating an Equal Opportunity Society whereby information can be accessed through ones fingers, eyes and ears. Mr. Inder Kumar Arora, Director, Chanakya Mudrak Ltd says, As a technology driven Print house, we feel honoured to be associated with this project. Our little contribution in this direction is a small step towards making prints accessible to all. We congratulate XRCVC, Radio Mirchi and Bombay Blue for taking this initiative and making it Possible! These Accessible, Inclusive Menu Cards were conceptualised and developed by the XRCVC created at Chanakya Mudrak Pvt Ltd, New Delhi and Radio Mirchi has contributed by adding audio to all the menus.
