Rain or Shine at Star Hollow Stables Being an equestrian takes discipline, passion, hard work and so much more than just “riding” the horse. Lately, I’ve seen just a lot of riding and very little discipline taking place. I’m hoping it’s from lack of knowledge and not just pure laziness. I am urging clients of Star Hollow to show up on lesson days when raining to learn important tasks (mini clinics) taught by me. Each session will be $10 Clients that were not scheduled for a lesson that day may also join in the clinics. The following will be covered: Proper grooming techniques Bandaging wrapping First Aid, TPR What to do in an emergency Barn management Clipping, Braiding Bathing, cleaning sheaths and teats Trailering Nutrition Keeping horses SAFE and humans SAFE Equipment and proper cleaning of tack Parts of the horse Aging and teeth Equine supplies you should have Diseases The list can go on and on. This is currently optional but I urge you to attend to further your knowledge in this sport that we love that is much more than just riding.
