Random encounter.... Tripping kid wearing a raincoat, pajama pants and huge slippers, appears in the launderette. He spots me and wanders over. TK: you like to talk to people, right? Me: (still folding laundry) sure, whats up brother? A long pause where TK sways back and forth, first examining the floor then the back of his hand. Finally, I get his attention again. Me: so what are you on tonite? TK: hunh? Me: what did you take? TK: (long pause) I didnt take anything, my friend gave me something. Me: well, do you think it was lsd? TK: no.....no..... oh shit, maybe it was... saw my psychiatrist today and he said..... He trailed off staring up at the lights. Me: um, hey! If you like the lights, go wander into Portsmouth! Lights are beautiful there and far more interesting than watching me fold laundry. TK: yeah, thanks...(shuffles away and stops) you mean the lights on the bridge right? Those are....great...i see them from my bedroom sometimes..... Me: sure, have fun... TK then disapeared out the door... Just now Im realizing I just sent someone tripping their balls off to go stare at the pretty lights on the bridge....am I a bad person?
