Rant! Several people have been asking if I can edit some of their photos for free. Just minor editing, and since Im too nice I have often said yes. Some people almost demanding I do it for feee because its such an simple edit. Which I think is extremely rude in the first place. But no! Im sorry to say that I will not edit your photos for free. Ever again, unless you win a free edit from me or something. No matter how easy or small the edit might be, I still take time from my schedule and freetime to do that. A lot of time. Same goes for shoots. Im charging for future shoots as well. People think its easy. Take som pictures, edit them and then the cosplayers can get them. For free. That is not how it works, Im sorry. You have no idea how much a photographer do before, during and after a shoot. First theres travel. Which costs money. Then they spend a whole day at different locations trying to make the most out of the time spent there. And this takes several hours. Dont forget the planning in advance. And then they get home and theres TONS of work they have to do with maybe thousands of pictures. Sorting and editing which also takes hours to do. And the editing itself can spand over several days. And you expect to get hours and hours of work for free? I dont think so. So Im sorry but thats not how it works. I think a lot of cosplayphotographers get way too little compensation and credit for their work. So please. Dont be so selfish, or expect free photos. Theres a lot of hard work and dedication put behind them. Thats all.
