Rather than wait 10 years to experience health care in the United States, there is a new virtual field experience that the government provides its citizens. Its called Call the Gas Company to Restore Your Gas after an Earthquake Valve Flips. You are told to wait in your house between 8 am and 8 pm for a technician that has no phone number. When he fails to find your address and doesnt call you when lost after the pizza delivery man finds your address, you call the company back to reschedule the following day between 8 am and 8 pm. You then awake to another cold shower and a new lock that somehow magically appeared and are told if you are to remove the lock and flip the valve yourself you are destroying government property and can be thrown in jail. When they tell you that you must now pay for the removal of the lock (which, of course, costs more than a doctor makes for a Medicare house call), you tell them that you can do it. However, they insist that this is a life threatening maneuver and I must wait for the expert, putting my life in the hands of a person who doesnt have a phone and cant find an address.
