Raw food does not always equal fruits and vegetables! Traditionally people around the world have always consumed some of their animal foods raw. Think raw milk, steak tartare, sushi, and ceviche. Getting a good amount of raw food (plant and/or animal) every day is important for our health because the enzymes in raw food help start the process of digestion and reduce the body’s need to produce digestive enzymes.
