Re-elect Sophie McKay! This year I have: + secured water fountains in the library + fought for primary education placements when there were allocation problems + negotiated the re-development of the forum (when you vote in the elections you can vote for what you want to forum to look like!) + worked with Barnet council to expand volunteer opportunities (such as the soup kitchen and the community action fair) + working towards improving employability for MDX graduates - by running focus groups and research into what skills recognition scheme will work for MDX students. They have decided on a mixture of volunteer hours, reflective logs and skill recognition. The pilot award is open now so nominate yourself through the website. + more events - we had 59 events this freshers instead of 3 the year before. I brought you the MDXmas market, the get ragged pub crawls and look forward to international womens day and the community action fair. + Kilimanjaro challenge If re-elected: + I will continue you expand volunteer opportunities for MDX students and alumni + I will continue to lobby and fight for placement issues+ I will work hard to make the new MDX skills recognition award accredited by business and employers to massively increase the employability of MDX graduates who have the award. + I will lobby the university to create more sports facilities on campus. + I will lobby the university for society storage space+ I will bring a longer and more representative freshers. + And I will continue to create more events and social buzz on campus.
