Ready for the Ramadan Rigors?! **Come to "Preparing for Ramadan" with Sr. Zainab Chaudhry!** Saturday July 6, 11:30- 5:00 pm In this intensive workshop, students will learn not only about the technical aspects of Ramadan, but also the spiritual meaning of this blessed month. We will explore the fiqh of fasting, including ways of maximizing its rewards. This class will also elaborate on one’s relationship with Allah and how to use Ramadan as a means of getting closer to Him. The basic rules of Zakat, celebrating Ramadan in Halal and meritorious ways, Eid and strengthening the community and brotherhood will also be discussed. Cost: $20 before July 1; $30 thereafter Teacher Bio: Sr Zainab Chaudhry spent four years in Damascus, Syria where she studied Arabic, Tajweed, Shafi’ Fiqh and the basic texts in several other Islamic sciences. She is a practicing attorney and currently works as an Assistant Solicitor General with the NYS Attorney General’s Office.
