Real Men Cry... Today I head back to Dallas. It is a bittersweet time, going home to work, children & life, while leaving Mom, my Rock. I have to believe that every one of us has an incredible attachment to our Moms. They birth us, (a sacrifice to their bodies & a miracle in itself). They nurture us, both physically & emotionally. They provide endless Words of Wisdom & give us that Moral Compass to guide us in their absence. They worry when we are small, hurt for us along the way, forgive us when our decisions stray & continue to nurture us even when we are grown. And they never stop worrying. Second only to God, Himself, Moms provide strength & humor. They teach us of fairness, intimacy & kindness. They instruct us how to be caring, gentle & kind. Moms know that we can accomplish more w/Sugar than Vinegar. And most of all they baptize us in tears we often never see. Moms somehow love us so much that, (like many creatures), they prepare us & encourage us to leave the nest, (even as it breaks their heart to see us go). They, like Him, want joy, abundance & love for us. I think I have love inside me only b/c She has taught me how. And now, just as it was so hard for her to see me go, it becomes increasingly harder for me to leave her. I know one day she will get to be w/my Dad again & watch her children from the picture window in the Living Room of His Mansion. Selfishly, tears roll down my cheeks as I cannot fathom the thought & so want to delay that thought for 100 years. But, you & I are no different. My emotions Im certain are no different than yours. Please join me, if your Mom is still on this earth, love her & cherish her. And if you are a Mom, positively know that whether such words are ever spoken or shared w/you, that You are the most amazing, wonderful & loving being in the Universe. And for that we love, You.
