Recent amendments to the Business Licence Act has significantly reduced the time it takes for incorporated companies to start operations in the Sultanate. In the past, it will take companies several months before they can start operations as they need to go through the monitoring and inspection process before they can get a business licences. This time, however, company owners can now get a business licence in as fast as fifteen minutes, according to Ak Kamal Ariffin Hj Md Yassin, special duties officer grade II at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA). Ak Kamal Ariffin said that to get the business licence, applicants can just bring their certificate of incorporation directly to the business licence counter.
