Recently I had a chance to ask some of the graduates of Waddington High School in Nairobi, Kenya to share what sponsorship meant to them. I asked them what they would tell people to convince them of the value of sponsorship. Heres what one young man had to say. “My names are * * *. I am 22 years old, currently a second year student taking a course on tourism management in one of the universities in the western part of Kenya. Sponsorship helped me get a better education both in primary and secondary school and pass to join university, since I could not manage to pay fees. It also helped me have a place to call home when I was homeless. Sponsorship provided me with food and clothing when I needed them most and also gave me a chance to be optimistic that life can give a poor child a chance to succeed and make his dream come true. I was able to go to educational trips which were only limited to those who came from a well stable family and thus expanded my knowledge. Most of the children in the poor family have great talent and capability to make it in life if they are given a chance to try and that can be possible if they are sponsored. Sponsorship helps create a good relationship between the countries and ease the assumption that the western countries are bad. It also helps reduce crime rate since most of the children who would otherwise engage in crime are taken to school. Moreover, sponsorship helps reduce the number of street children who sometimes become victim of circumstance when war break up in the street. I therefore urge all well-wishers to help these poor people gain their full potential and we’ll all be grateful and God will reward you for your work. Done, thank you” ! Your sponsorship will help assure that the gates to the school remain open and all that want an education are welcomed! Go to: hishandssupportministries.org/kenya to start sponsoring a child today! The children are waiting!
