Recently I have heard on more than one occasion that its not about winning souls just to get a notch on your belt. In other words its not about leading people to Jesus so that you can say you led someone to Jesus. I have spoken to many people who have been witnessing for years, and most in years and years of witnessing have led very few to Jesus if any. If there was people leading MANY people to Jesus and not caring for the new converts these comments would be justified. But that is not the case. What these comments do is cause people to shy away from evangelism. Paul even says - But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. Having the wrong motives is not ideally the best way to preach the Gospel but certainly better than the Gospel not been preached at all. You see the power is in the Gospel not the person preaching. Paul is saying at least the Gospel is getting out there even though it meant he would stay in prison because of there preaching. Paul had it. You see some have it and some think they have it. What do some people have and some people think they have. Answer. The Gospel burning in their bones - The Fire.
