Recently I received an email from a Platoon Leader deployed to Afghanistan. Her unit sent the following note: I am the Platoon Leader of a DUSTOFF platoon made up of ARNG from Utah, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. Every month, we host a 5K on our compound in Bastion, Afghanistan, as a morale event for Camps Bastion and Leatherneck. We sell t-shirts and patches to raise money for a different charity every month. To date, we have donated over $7,000 to Wounded Warriors, Fisher House, Dogs on Deployment, and Nine Line Foundation. I would like to donate money to the DUSTOFF Association. Today we received that donation - and its no small chump change - its sizeable - SO - here is a BIG THANK YOU shout out to our brothers and sisters in G Co - 2-135 MEDEVAC (KS and CO NG) C Co - 1-171st MEDEVAC (UT NG) C Co - 5-159th MEDEVAC (WY NG) If Im not mistaken some of these same folks were those who RIP-TOAd with C/1-214th when we filmed When I have your wounded at Camp Dwyer in 20111.
