Recently found this video. Ignore the biased description and comments section. Frankly the behavior by the protesters in the video is disgusting to me. While being angry is a part of a protest, stopping people from entering the event just because they dont agree with their views is barbaric. The people wanting to see the talk simply wanted an opinion from another side, which these protesters wouldnt allow. Curiosity majorly triggered, I went to find out what was the apparent cause of the protest. In Farrells book The Myth of Male Power he talks about date rape and date fraud, and how people saying no while their bodies saying yes are causing a gray area in terms of consent. He then goes to say he wants a society of explicit consent where both genders have to change so that rape is no longer and accident. He uses an example of popular romance novels as to how this date fraud used to be considered exciting. These protesters have staw-manned this into Farrell being a rape apologist and anyone wanting to listen to him is a rape apologist also. I dont even know why this is so long. Guess its just frustrating these people are saying they represent all of feminism, when its giving it a bad name.
